Snake River Rapids

Whitewater Dentistry
Have the whitewater rafting experience of your life,
combined with 5 hours of veterinary dental CE credits.

 When: June 24 - 28, 2010

Five days on the Snake River through Hells Canyon (Class III and IV rapids)
Hells Canyon,
North America 's deepest river gorge, encompasses a vast and remote region with dramatic changes in elevation, terrain, climate and vegetation. Carved by the great Snake River, Hells Canyon plunges more than a mile below Oregon 's west rim, and 8,000 feet below snowcapped He Devil Peak of Idaho's Seven Devils Mountains . There are no roads across Hells Canyon's 10-mile wide expanse, and only three roads that lead to the Snake River between Hells Canyon Dam and the Oregon-Washington boundary.

Power Point presentations given each night on the beach: “Periodontal Disease”, “ Dental Radiography”, “Extractions”, “Oral Problems Presented at Emergency Exam”, and “Growing Your Dental Practice”.

Veterinarians, Technicians and families welcome.

The field of veterinary dentistry has grown exponentially in recent years. Doctors, technicians, and pet owners realize that our pets’ oral health is just
as important as our own. Dentistry can be an
important profit center in our practices as well. Most veterinarians graduate from veterinary school with minimal knowledge, skill, or experience in dentistry and oral surgery.
Whitewater Dentistry was designed with the general practitioner and veterinary technician in mind. Our goal is to provide you with practical knowledge of dentistry that you can take back to your practice and use immediately to upgrade your dental program and grow the dental segment of your practice.
Whitewater Dentistry
After an exciting day on the river we will
provide Power Point presentations covering
“Periodontal Disease”, “Dental Radiography”,
“Extractions”, “Oral Problems Presented at
Emergency Exam”, and “Growing Your Dental
Practice.”
What will you learn?
---Normal oral anatomy
---How to recognize and categorize periodontal
disease
---How to treat periodontal disease
---Home care—what really works?
---Equipment requirements for dental radiography
---Radiographic techniques
---Indications and clinical use of radiography

Testimonials

Hi John,

Wanted to write to tell you and Julie how much I enjoyed your wet lab on Saturday. I thought you guys did a great job in the very short time frame they gave you. I really felt I gained some good knowledge and technique in spite of doing "dentistry" for the past  32 years.  I will definitely be able to improve the service and quality in my practice using what I learned on Saturday. I am really interested in coming over to Reno for your "full" day course this Winter. Please keep me informed when you decide on the dates

This was a great trip - being incorporated with the rafting trip. What an awesome way to do CE! Excellent notes... I really appreciated the power point format. Great way to go on an awesome rafting trip cleverly disguised as dental CE. Very good lectures.

Very interesting, the presentation stimulated serious thoughts of going deeper into the field of dentistry in our practice.
